How to Make Your Stomach Healthy Again

Your digestive tract plays a pivotal role in overall , yet so much of what we do on a regular basis stresses this system.

And keeping your digestive tract at 110% is critical if you want the best health possible.

So here are 5 tips for making your healthier:

1. Give your gut nutrients: aside, your stomach feeds on key nutrients to rebuild itself. Keep in mind, that just like skin, your gut has cells that need constant renewal. And one way to accomplish this is with glutamine. Not only will it feed your stomach, but it will also increase levels of glutathione-the most powerful internal anti-oxidant.

2. Replenish your stores of good bacteria: There are certain bacteria in your gut that convert sugar into lactic acid. This is beneficial because it prevents food spoilage within your body. So a good way to replenish your store of good bacteria is by eating yogurt, kefir or kimchi. And keep in mind that you have to do this frequently since the bacteria die quickly.

3. Give the bacteria food: Ok, not only should you let the bacteria flourish, but you should also feed them. Doing so will give them the necessary nutrients to survive. Now, what constitutes good bacteria food? Well, mostly things that are high in fiber like beans.

4. Reduce caffeine intake: Caffeine can place a lot of stress on your digestive system. Not only does it increase gastric emptying, but it also increases the acidity of your stomach. And both of these can cause some serious issues when caffeine is taken chronically in high doses.

5. Drink water: Interestingly, if you are dehydrated, digestion is compromised. Drinking lots of water is an effective way to enhance digestion of whatever you are eating. Not to mention that every gram of carbohydrate requires three grams of water in order to get shuffled into muscle as glycogen.

Keeping your stomach healthy is a great way to keep your whole body healthy. So make sure you take action on this information today, not tomorrow. Because for most people, tomorrow never comes!
