Vitamin B and Inadequate Levels

Vitamins in our system are an integral part to keep our bodies functioning correctly; they are obtained via external sources as we can’t auto-produce them. It is essential to ensure a diet with a great nutritional value and vitamin amounts.

The vitamin B complex is comprised from a family of vitamins, designed with the letter B and a number, and they must be taken as a whole.

Among the most common types of vitamin deficiencies, we have B12 deficiency; this can take place due to certain factors such as toxins in the environment, processed foods and even stress.

Failing to get proper levels of vitamin B can lead to health complications and bring conditions such as neurological disorders and pernicious anemia. In children signs are more severe.

Among the people who have a higher risk of develop a deficiency of B12, we have those who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet. They avoid all animal food in the diet, and to compensate this, they will have to include in their lives supplementation.

Animal products offer good quantities of this vitamin quite easily, we are talking here specially about eggs, muscle flesh, liver and dairy products.

Adequate amounts of vitamin B complex are hard to find in vegetable sources. High amounts of them would be needed to get the right levels and have a well-balanced vitamin intake.

Among the vegetable sources that contain some of this vitamin we have baked potatoes, bananas, avocados, soybeans and spinach. A vegetarian will necessarily need a form of B12 supplement.

Treatment of this type of deficiency will be given according to the severity of your case and your current lifestyle habits. Some forms of vitamin B are available to be supplemented via injections, sublingual means and even creams.

Please take into account this information is strictly for educational purposes. If you believe you have a vitamin B deficiency you must undergo proper evaluation by a qualified doctor.

Learning how to recognize the causes of vitamin b12 deficiency symptoms can be pretty useful prior to your visit to the doctor, but still testing is required to discard other conditions.

Bananas are definately good. I also definately agree with eating more vegetables and vitamin b-rich foods. There was also another post where a Vitamin B6 was actually very good in elevating mood, so I’m fairly sure we’lll be seeing a lot more foods or supplements with vitaminB6. At least, at least I think so.
